Hi Brian,

Sorry for the slow reply - I didn't see your comment here until just now. Glad you like the idea and the site design :)

I'm not actually familiar with Nitro LM and after spending half an hour clicking around their site I can't say I understand much more about it! It appears to me to be targetted at a very different market than Sharify (the <a href="http://www.kelvinluck.com/2009/03/shair-is-now-sharify/" rel="nofollow">new name for shAIR</a>). I couldn't find any information on their pricing structure or how you implement their product so I can't really give a fair comparison.

I will say that one of the main aims of Sharify is that it is very approachable to people coming from a web design/ creative background. I believe that people like this will be the ones with the ideas behind the next generation of must-have applications and that they will be using AIR to make those applications (as it allows them to leverage their already existing skills in Flash, Flex and HTML/JS). This seems to me to be a very different focus to Nitro LM.

The current beta of Sharify doesn't encrypt the client application but that is something which is on our roadmap and we've done some R&D in that direction. I would hope to be able to offer this facility once Sharify comes out of beta. We don't have a solid date for this but if you would like to start using Sharify sooner rather than later then please register on the site and include a description of your application and your requirements and we'll see if we can invite you to join the beta,

Thanks for the comments and questions,

Kelvin :)

Kelvin,

Sounds good, great web site design also!

How does this compare with Nitro-LM's Features and Capabilities?

Are you also doing encryption of customer application with your licensing?

How do you actually protect the application beyond authorized registration?

I guess the most important question is when can it be purchased?

This is great work kelvin! I don't have any air applications right now but I am going to dive in. shAIR not only provides a great avenue to monetize for air developers but also to bring together cool air apps under one hut.
