One bug I did run in to (only with IE) was to change the 'rel' attribute of the tag as well. So, if you have 2 stylesheets with one rel="stylesheet" and the other rel="alternate stylesheet", when switching them (disabling/enabling) also set the enabled one to rel="stylesheet" and the other to rel="alternate stylesheet".
